The Federation of Synagogues Women's Guilds of South Africa manifesto is to promote and foster traditional orthodox Jewish values in the home as well as in the wider Jewish community. We organise shiurim on topics pertaining to Orthodox Jewish womens' issues. Our members receive regular newsletters before the main chagim We also accomplish this task by encouraging and organising religious and Jewish cultural activities in the individual synagogues through the ladies guilds. The guilds coordinate brochas, shiurim visiting the sick and various programmes for senior citizens.

The Federation of Synagogues Women's Guilds represents the voice of Orthodox women at the National Level by being represented on the CO Ordinating Council of National Jewish Organisations of South Africa. We are part of the 'Shalom Bayit' project which supports and assists abused Jewish Women.

The Federation assists in the promotion of Kashrut through the Kosher Consumer Organization, which aims to foster the interests of the consumer as well as to strive to keep the kosher consumer as well informed as possible regarding matters that affect them.

The Provincial Hospital Kosher Kitchen operates under our auspices.
